GEOVIA MineSched

Underground Locations User Parameters Tab

The User parameters tab contains the User parameters data grid. You use the User parameters data grid to define user parameters values for underground mining locations.

Note: Text-type user parameters can be applied as selection and visibility constraints to the locations in the 3D Canvas.

Columns in the User Parameters Data Grid

Column Description
Location

The location or locations that are selected in the 3D Canvas.

If no location is selected, or Show only canvas selection is selected off, all locations are displayed in the list.

Comments

Any comments you want to make for the user parameter.

You can use the Settings icon at the top of the User parameters data grid to create a user parameter. When you click the Settings icon the User Parameters form appears, which displays the User parameters data grid.

Columns in the User Parameters Data Grid on the User Parameters form

Column Description
Name

The name for the parameter.

Note: The name is case-sensitive and cannot contain spaces.

Type

The type of parameter. Options are:

  • Numeric: Parameters that are used in mathematical expressions. Numeric parameters can be weighted by Mass, Volume, or Length.
  • Text: Parameters that are used as descriptions for headings and locations.
  • Note: Text parameters cannot be weighted.

Weight by

The method used to determine how a numeric parameter value is calculated when reporting from multiple locations, where the parameter value varies by location. Options are:

  • Mass: The parameter is weighted by mass.
  • Volume: The parameter is weighted by volume.
  • Length: The parameter is weighted by length.
Background value

The background value for the parameter.

The background value is used for any location or heading for which no specific parameter value is assigned in the scenario.

Notes:

  • User parameter values for development headings are assigned in the Setup Development > Parameters tab. You can change numeric parameter values along a heading.
  • User parameter values for underground production locations are assigned in the 3D Canvas of the Setup Schedule > Locations tab.
  • User parameter values for surface production locations are assigned in Parameters data grid in the Setup Schedule > Parameters tab. You can change numeric parameter values over time, in both surface and underground production locations.

You can also define user parameter values for underground locations in the Setup Schedule > Parameters tab. The Parameters data grid in the Parameters tab allows you to enter numeric parameter values that change over time, and to use wildcards in the location names to apply a parameter to more than one location.

Note: If you define parameters in the Parameters data grid of the Setup Schedule > Parameters tab, they take precedence over parameters defined in the User parameters data grid in the Setup Schedule > Locations > Underground tab.
